📒100% Honest, Real Reviews, Advice & Opinions📒
I would like to make it completely clear that like all the reviews and advice that I give on the #BestBinoculars Reviews video channel and website, this is my honest and completely genuine opinion and I am in no way compensated to describe a binocular in a particular way or with a bias.

In other words, if I think a binocular or a feature on it is great, I will say so. If I think it is rubbish or it is weak in certain areas, I will also point them out.

Before writing and publishing any binocular review, I thoroughly research, test, and use the instrument in my office as well as out in the field. I also conduct comprehensive comparisons between the binocular under review with a number of benchmark binoculars in both good and bad light conditions.

Whilst I make every effort not to, I do make the occasional error or am sometimes supplied with the wrong details. If you spot any mistakes, please feel free to contact me either in the comments section, via social media, or on my site, so that I can rectify it.

As always, I love getting feedback and your opinions. it is these that help me improve and continue to supply you with content, advice, and reviews that you actually want to watch.

I’m looking for a mid range priced binocular for stargazing, any suggestions? Another question is what should my view be through the binoculars for stargazing…. should it be a single circle or double?

nice video, lots of information. I’m looking to purchase a compact binocular and i figured all start on you tube. I know very little about them. I eventually want to start getting back to wilderness. Thanks for the info. I have alot of research still to do. Glad i found your channel.

Man, I liked Steiner but they are about $300. What are the best smallest and lightest at normal price range for a regular person? I can even pay $100 but $300 no :O Just want to see some wildlife in a distance. I’m seeing many at $30 on Amz, willing to go a bit higher for lighter binoculars with better quality.

  10. @MrTimjm009 on November 13, 2024 at 12:23 pm

I was on a tight budget but I still wanted the best for my money. I recently bought poro prism design much like the ones in this video . A little narrower and tiny bit shorter maybe than in the video. Work well though and I like that particular shape

Very informative and helpful. Well I ended up buying the Steiners, I was bird watching today and couldn’t figure out why my $25 binoculars were not only blurry but fogging up! Now I know….Thanks!!

Excellent video! Thank you very much! I especially enjoyed the technical explanations on cost and effect tradeoff. With online shopping, it is harder to compare binoculars for optical performance. Far too often the metric used for comparison tend to be price, dimension, weight, field of view, magnification. I really appreciate the fact that you have gone beyond those easy metrics and talked about the details so many overlook!

Thank you for your great videos and blog! Not sure if you’ll read this, but if you do, do you happen to have a recommendation on a compact waterproof binocular that is tripod mountable?

I saw the Pentax Papilio II 8.5×21 was your 2024 compact pick and it hits almost all my requirements except for the waterproof part.

I was thinking of maybe saving up for the Steiner Wildlife 8×24 and gluing a female camera mount onto it.

The main reason I’d like it to be tripod mountable is because i think it would be neat to have it on a quick release camera clip so I could attach it to my backpack strap.

  27. @Martin.W.F on November 13, 2024 at 12:40 pm

looking for a pair of binoculars for bird watching / general wildlife. Would either the 10×26 vanquish or the 10×32 raptor be well suited, or would you recommend me going for a 10×42 sized pair instead ?

  28. @willparsons32 on November 13, 2024 at 12:42 pm

    Of VERY interest!
My lil spat is what is it that you’re using the binos for?
I think if one needs to perfectly identify the colors of a rare bird or other type of animal, an expensive high end glass binocular would be what one is requiring.
On the flip side however, if you’re looking for a flock of geese or a large waterfowl species, perhaps a less expensive binocular would be sufficient.
Rather it be an expensive high end glass binocular or a less expensive binocular, just remember, neither one is capable of capturing the image. This is where a HIGH end SIGMA camera lens attached to the Canon 70D would come into place!

What about the Leupold BX-1 rogue? Versus the Vortex Vanquish.

  30. @kimhogg41 on November 13, 2024 at 12:42 pm

I was trying to purchase the Steiner wildlife 8 x 24 binoculars, but B&H and multiple other places say that Steiner has stopped making that model now. What do you recommend in it’s place. I occasionally wear glasses, so a decent eye relief is desirable. Thanks.

  31. @jeshely on November 13, 2024 at 12:42 pm

    Porro all the way.

  32. @jaredbabic9928 on November 13, 2024 at 12:43 pm

Loving all your videos! I’m looking at getting some binoculars to use in my hammock at night to look at the sky. I’ve been using some cheap 8x21s and am looking to upgrading. Still cant decide. The world of binoculars is something I haven’t really jumped into before. But I’m enjoying your vids and I’m sure they’ll help me decide! Keep up the great vids!

It seems as if all the compact steiner bins are the same. I have a pair of steiner ultras harp 8×22 which look exactly the same as those wildlife 8×24. They are brilliant but have started to get blurry towards the edges, do you have any thoughts on why.

Thanks. I do wish that your desk was lighter in color, and that your background was less cluttered. It is hard for me to fully see the product in front of you. Maybe some additional “frontal lighting” would help.

  41. @doghunter4097 on November 13, 2024 at 1:00 pm

Great video. Depends on how much money we have. In most cases, with small binoculars we have a narrowed choice. I think Best to buy is a porro design, 8 or 7×25, and fully multy coated BAK4…allways! Others is waste of money.

  42. @hispacacciato3514 on November 13, 2024 at 1:01 pm

Hello, sir! First of all, thanks you for all the information!!! It was super helpful. I am new to the channel and i ended up in your website.
I will go for the Hawke Frontier 8×42 ED X . However, I’m in Poland and the website i was about to buy them says they weight 725 gr, which is not marching with what you said in your review. So i was wondering if maybe they are not actually selling an old model of them? Actually you did mention that the 43 version is a little bit heavier, around 740 gr. I’ve doubts, i don’t think the shop is trying to scam me but i also don’t know if they are accurate enough to name the product properly… Any recommendation?

Sir, how can we know or detect, a fake brand binocular? Thank you. Hope you discuss this in the future.

  45. @milosukic1857 on November 13, 2024 at 1:04 pm

the small binoculars have an unstable image, shaking. what is the stability of the Nikon 6x15micronnikon 8x20hg ldcf, it has a very stable field of view

  46. @fmbga on November 13, 2024 at 1:07 pm

I’m wondering how long cheaper binoculars last compared to pricier ones, and whether there is actual data out there for this. For example, if the pricier pair costs 3 times as much but lasts 5 times as long, it will be the better deal long-term, plus I’ll get a better viewing experience out if it. Warranty may also make a difference, but should I be wary if the warranty is TOO good? Is that a sign that the binocular is actually super cheap to make, so it makes economical sense for the manufacturer to just hand me a new one anytime anything goes wrong? And what about resale value?
    I guess it’s complicated…

I recently bought the Vortex Diamondback 8×32 binoculars. We bought these for viewing mostly indoor live events. We like these but, my wife wants a binocular with an even wider linear field of view. The options seem very limited for this. I would appreciate any suggestions or opinions or experience that anyone can give on this type of binocular. Thanks.
