1080p is okay but its not enough

1080p is more than fine & i don’t need to sit 1m away to make the screen "look good". what a load of crap. And I run a triple 27" curved screen setup.
1080 resolution 27 inches – for games – distance to avoid visual fatigue 1.05 meters, more fps – resolution 1440p QHD (2k) 27 inches – editing, rendering and design, distance to avoid visual fatigue 33cm less fps –
4 k is stupid in my humble opinion .
is he ai
isnt 50 cm way too close for 27 inch full hd monitor? i have 27"2k at 90 cm
I’ll only ever game in 1080p. When bullets are flying at you from all directions, the last thing on my mind is how detailed the grass looks.

And 4k monitors are justified for me,
I want hi-DPI to better read text
im thinking about buying a 27’ 1080p monitor wich my main reason to buy it is that it can run 240hz. i also have a laptop that will run it. should i buy it or do you have a better recommendation?

I don’t see a point to get higher than 1440p on a 24” monitor…..bigger screens like 32”+ maybe yea (depends if you use it for close distance, if is a 4k-8k tv and you stay 1.5m + away from it….kinda be wasted money )

Most people forget: a 4k display can also used with a 1440p resolution – its like using the lower-hw-monitor, but its Future proof.
Very useful analytics, it seems 4k monitors are still too expensive and really decrease fps on average graphic cards.

i think i hear a little german
4k the way…. 1440p is much closer to 1080p than 4k, so it’s not much of a upgrade,
Hi. Thanks for very good explenation. Is it possible to test monitors for graphical design or et list to recomend what is better Dell G2724D or Samsung odyssey g5 AG500 (DG500) with price about 300-400$. I know that those two are the gaming but good profecional for graphics is few times expencive. thanks in advance
super amazing explanation
This video is so helpful, thanks! I was worried I’d made a mistake buying a 32” 1440p instead of a 4k. But I actually sit about 120cm away from the screen on a couch, playing ps5 mostly, so the PPD calculator was reassuring.

24 inch 1080p on top
Even within the desktop category, larger screens are naturally viewed from a larger distance which is a big advantage of a 32inch 1440, over a 24inch 1080 screen, despite having the same pixels per inch.
There are additional effects to consider including the stereoscopic nature of human 2-eyed vision(Sitting close to a small screen forces you to be more cross-eyed and cause muscle fatigue.). Focal depth of field is better at medium to long distances, which is fully independent of angular resolution. Larger screens with longer nominal viewing distance are also less sensitive to the position of the viewer’s head (eg 10:90 vs 10:60).
me who uses 240p
1440p is a sweet spot at 27 inches. I am upgrading from an old 1080p 60hz 21.5 IPS monitor to 1440p 144hz 27 inch VA one soon. Got OLED on both phone and tablet now and can’t stand the low contrast on IPS. (Oled is too expensive as I don’t use my desktop that much) Yeah there are ghosting issues on VA panels, but I don’t game much and 144hz will more than make up for it.
Great video. Very informative and straight forward. I rarely post comments but this video deserved it <3

As long as PPI is maintained at least 140ppi then it’ll be clear as hell.

or just buy a bloody 65" 120hz tv which has been perfect for me for ages, why use a crappy little monitor in 2024
4k is fckin blurry pixelated mess. I use an 8k oled 500hz monitor.

Got a Samsung 4k non gaming monitor at like less than 200 dollars new on Amazon in 2019 , best purchase i’ve made so far
Absolutely love German reviewers because they are extremely thorough. Great vid , subbed.
1080p is more than enough. the minimum resolution i can live with is 480i
1:20 "relatively small 27in screen"
5:12 "close to a big 27in screen"
is it small or big lol
The 4k monitor I will be getting retails for $420 and has support for up to 165Hz refresh rate, and has over 95% srgb color accuracy. Any more than that and you’re overpaying, unless its for a TV

Honestly, I’ve never had a content creator who gave me a damn good reason to watch an ad. Your segway into the ad while leaving us to compare monitors at the 3:50 mark was genius. Kudos.
