I noticed at the beginning with the recommended devices, you mentioned how accurate the sensors in them were, and then when you moved on to the other devices the issues were with the other features like data visibility. How does the accuracy/consistency vary across the the sensors you’ve tested?
Why haven’t you talked about monitors that measure down to 0.3 microns or less? It’s these ultra fine particles from car pollution, smoke, fires etc that are the most damaging to us. These particles can enter the home from outside or they can be created by something like log burners inside. Measuring 2.5 microns doesn’t give you much information.
Hi Danny, I can finally tell you how I feel about the Qinping Pro 2 compared to the Awair Element. The PM2.5 measurements are almost identical and the CO2 measurements are very similar. But the humidity measurements are very divergent, reaching more than 10 points of difference between the Awair Element and the QP PRO 2. The latter are much more realistic, but I’m waiting for the Aranet4 to arrive to finally decide which is more accurate (I’m sure the QP Pro2). The problem is in the VOC measurements. While the Awair records the measurement as chemicals, the QP PRO 2 reflects them as eTVOC and the difference is huge. While Awair tells you that there is a high level (and the DYSON Formaldehyde TP09 sensors match), the QP PRO 2 tells you that the eTVOC is good overall. I am very confused because I really need to know a realistic approximation to the VOCs which I think are my problem (the house was painted less than 2 months ago with non-ecological paint with a high VOC content). Which one should I believe? In terms of humidity, the QP Pro 2 is much more reliable, in terms of PM2.5 they all give the same figures, but on the one hand Dyson and Awair say that the VOCs are high, the QP PRO 2 says that they are fine.
On the other hand, and this question is vital for me Danny, do you know how long it takes for the VOCs of the non-ecological paint to disappear? Should I paint again, sealing this paint and repainting with zero VOC paint? If you think I should paint again, I would appreciate the advice because I really am not feeling well at all i am constantly dizzy and with short of breath and many more sympthoms.

Took your advice and bought a Qing Ping V2 and an AirGradient One. The Quing Ping is nice and easy to use. When the AirGradient One arrives, I’m eager to compare their readings because it seems like the Qing Ping is good, but not great regarding accuracy.
And just wanted to say that you are the only guy that gives us honest reviews,, I have checking another sites and they seems just like they only make publicity for their affiliates,,, I just keep on coming again and again to you. Thanks for your real help 🙏
I have learned a lot from you in this 2 months I discovered you. Now I have quite a few Air purifiers according to your recommendations ( I am the guy who lives in a high industry location and repainted house full of VOC). Now I have a Dyson TP09 that also has sensors ( seems accurate by the way). Also I bought 3 Winnix zero pro ( as u recommended me )2 Coway 150, 1 Levoit vital 200, 1 Coway 400 which I will receive tomorrow and also got a Morento air purifier cause it has double filters from the rear and the front ( have to test this yet if u interested I will give u a feedback.
Now that I am done ( for now ) with air purifiers I am ongoing into the world of air monitors .
Unfortunately I cannot get Airgradient in Spain. I bought for the moment 2 Awair Element second gen just to start with cause it was an offer in Amazon for 125€ each. Was a good choice or QP Pro second gen would be a more accurate product for just 30$ more? Thanks a lot Danny you are doing a great job helping us mate 👍
Pd,,, as I will need several devices do you also think Temtop M10 can be a good choice for me? I basically need PM2.5 ( from external factories) but also VOC and formaldehyde due to recent painting and poor quality flooring.,,, I have leaned from you that u cannot really have accurate VOC levels if not spending thousands of dollars which I don’t have. So, shall I return the 2 Awair element and get 2 GP Pro second gen?

I have both Aranet 4 and QingPing Air Monitor Gen 2. Aranet 4 is a great device for CO2 readings but the biggest issue I have with it is that’s buzzer sound if CO2 reading is higher than the threshold barely makes any sound so I would not trust it as an over nightCO2 monitor while you sleep inside a camping tent or small cabin specially if you have gas heating inside. The QingPing’s CO2 over limit alarm is a proper sounding alarm which is loud, and I like that you can change the volume levels to suit your preference.
The QingPing Air Monitor Gen 2 is my favourite device as it does CO2 readings just as reliable as Aranet 4 at even more frequent updates compared to 1 minute which is the quickest update time on Aranet 4 you can set. QP2 also serves PM2.5 readings in my household. I still love the Aranet 4 primarily due to its longer battery life and that it’s so portable. It’s my go to monitor to take to office, buses, trains, planes etc.

seen some comments that quingping 2 is showing fake readinf after fews days of usage. can you recheck and confirm pls?
I use the Airgradient One and the $50 option from IKEA.
The Airgradient is great. The lights tell you if you need to be concerned at a glance, the screen has everything you need well laid out, and the accuracy appears to be great.
The IKEA option is actually quite accurate and has a very good sensor, but the way it displays VOCs is a bit odd. The form factor and screen size are quite good. I use this one near my 3D Printer.
Great selection of devices, I have the airthings as it tracks radon, living on a granite island it’s useful but pm2.5 does lag, I notice it when my airpurifier kicks in and airthings still has a low reading then picks up. I think I will purchase qingping gen 2. Nice plug and play and looks accurate enough on your results list also has pm10
Atmotube is great but has one big problem, I think. The alerts for AQ do not wake an iPhone screen, or make any sound. You’ll only see the notifications time you wake the phone, which is entirely pointless as an “alert”.

Nice review, thanks. Have you tested out the Vitalight mini CO2 detector? That’s the one I use. A number of drawbacks, but seems quite accurate and is a great low budget option. I’ve posted some of the readings to the Raven Clean Air map, which is a crowdsourced database of air quality data.
I got 3 aranet4’s when they where HEAVILY discounted a few weeks ago, where each one costed like 130 euro inc tax.
I also have a cheap Nomestic CO2 sensor, but there is a HUGE difference between the nomestic and the aranet in CO2 levels, with a difference of over 25%
The reason I got 3 is because I dislike moving the sensor every time to different rooms and have wait 10+ minutes for it to have detected the CO2 levels.
with 3 I am also more inclined to ventilate, since now I have a visual indication of CO2 levels of each area
I also have it connected to Home-assistant, for monitoring and remote detection/measuring
being able to connect to HA is a requirement for me with sensors, since I don’t need 5+ apps for different sensors.
since HA will allow you to look at all data with 1 app instead of 5+
