DIY Leviton Motion Sensor Light – How to Install – EASY INSTALL – $20

On this episode of the Ultimate Tech Hub we will install a motion sensor light from Leviton. We will go over all steps necessary to fully complete this installation. The Leviton Motion Sensor Light is a convenient way to have lights turn off and on automatically when you enter or leave a room. You can convert just about any light into a motion sensor light for a cost of only $20. If you do not feel comfortable with doing any electrical wiring call a professional. It will cost around $100-$120 for a professional to install the Leviton motion sensor light. As always turn the power off at the breaker before doing any wiring of the new switch.

Can this be installed on a switch used to turn fan above a toilet?

  4. @jime2290 on November 13, 2024 at 12:28 pm

Probably might want to confirm there is no live power before you remove the switch

Hi everyone enjoy this video and remember to install motion sensor lights in locations that only need light for a temporary amount of time. Examples would be a laundry room, garage or a pantry. Thanks for watching!

    Liked video, but too fast,

My IPV02 only has a time sensor screw on the left…NO light adjustment screw. And the light does NOT sense motion. I don’t understand how to get the light to come on due to motion.

The process of installing hands move way to fast

  9. @zzsql on November 13, 2024 at 12:38 pm

Thanks for the video but you’re doing people a disservice by calling the ground wire "the gold wire". Better to explain to people what actually happens in the process.

Unless absolutely necessary you should never cut (shorten the wires). The national code usually requires at least 6" of wire in the box for all leads. By shortening the wire you might go less than the code and it makes it harder to install or remove the device the more you shorten the wires.
Also, if you remove the wire insulation do NOT NICK the wire. It could break over time at the nick and cause a short thus possible fire.

That cool to install a switch. How about if you want to install the light and the switch?

Will this work if I don’t connect a ground wire to the sensor?
