I bought a scam energy saver and made it actually save energy!

There are all kinds of plug in the wall “energy saver” boxes. None of these save energy or do anything. I thought I’d buy a cheap one and modify it to actually save energy — just for fun.

This is sold under different names “Stopwatt” “eocwatt pro” “Stop Watt”, “Stop Eenergy Watt Power Smart Energy Saver”, “Electricity svings box”, etc. If it was that easy to “save energy”, the power grid operators would already be implementing it.

OMG thank you so much! I was excited to see you ‘review’ this thing because the theory behind it made sense and I knew you would quickly know the truth. But also because I laughed my guts out in the best way, which I also really needed! So much <3! Alternatively, it seems like a plausible tech, how would you accomplish it?

The only way these devices could work is if you could plug your 220 appliances into them. Those are the units that use all of your damn power. I get so tired of people whining about lights, fans and computer chargers using power. They use almost nothing compared to the bigger appliances.

Watts Save Pro is a scam, it just delays your monthly payments just like that cable tv plug you purchases decades ago installed it on the back of your cable box. The cable device didn’t give you free cable, it just delayed the cable company from seeing it, “ But you did have to pay the cable company sooner or later.

Hello I would like to discuss with you an issue I’m having w our power company NYSEG we received a ridiculous bill while living in our RV I received a $3069 bill for 10 months as they claim we received estimated bills but we have 4 yr history of bills under $75 /month. Quick question the power company states that they supply what we call for. This doesn’t make sense to me as I have a 50amp service w an inverter, winnebago stated that there’s no way possible for us to be using the amount of power that power company is saying that we’re using because of the inverter and the 50 a.m. service it would shut off our electric continuously. Is there a way for the power company to be sending power that’s not being used. I was told of a term called fall off and I am not the only one in our close proximity two of my neighbors are having a very similar situation that their bills have doubled and tripled as well. I would appreciate any suggestions and or explanation that you may be able to. I also welcome anyone to contact me Scott Pall at 631-334-1400 if they would like to discuss this matter with me thank you very much

The information is as serious as this commentator…. To be sure capacitors have been made out of everything imaginable for the past four hundred years and if elon came up with bixby dust that works and it does so be it. I saved $600.On my true up that kept going up two hundred dollars every year

  20. @kprice399 on November 13, 2024 at 12:22 pm

Fabulous review! Love the schematic you drew out and the hack-saw you used to find out what’s inside the magic black box. Very entertaining and worth every moment that I spent watching.!!! Please make more videos.

A question: How, a device, plugged into a random house plug can work onto others devices ?
That’s what the fake ads says about Smart Eergy co.

  26. @jeromelabastida-y7e on November 13, 2024 at 12:40 pm

its a scam. a small capacitor is inside the box. if this true, he big electrical companies manufacturing various electrical equipments will produce it. these laymen introducing this scam are no good. they are liars

LOL! Is that pixie dust made of magic beans? Like jack in the bean stock?

  31. @robert2098 on November 13, 2024 at 12:45 pm

I found your video after I was curious what is actually inside this scam device that keeps turning up in my YouTube ads. While I was not surprised it was only a circuit to light a LED., it surprised me that it contains a black blob that only adds weight so it feels more genuine, instead of a pink rainbow unicorn with wings.

BTW, did you know a screenshot of this video is used on the Dutch website that sells this fairy tale device

And you also appear in this Dutch promotional video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5eFyfSY-ik

So you are now an official influencer that endorses this magic device on their web site 🤣

Common sense- if you plug something into an AC outlet, it’s gonna use MORE electricity. Passive shielding, on the other hand, does work, and works splendidly.

  45. @joescoglio1633 on November 13, 2024 at 1:02 pm

Thanks for taking the time to show what is in the device and why it doesn’t work. The ending is Very funny.

  48. @abodao on November 13, 2024 at 1:03 pm

Excellent explanation of the inner circuitry of the unit. We’ve never stopped selling "snake oil" to the public. Thank you for that schematic breakdown?

  49. @carolynblackstone5 on November 13, 2024 at 1:04 pm

I watched several videos before buying this Power Saver. For ome reason I wasn’t convinced that this was a good product. Just before I hit the PayPal pay button I thought to myself go back and look for more reviews. There you were, I Thank You So So much, you saved me $119. Thank you for your knowledge.

  50. @meindertverhoeven4328 on November 13, 2024 at 1:05 pm

@matthiasrandomstuff2221 The scammers are once again abusing your image in their advertisement as if you were promoting the power saver plus.
